New LED video display to entertain fans at Silver Cross Field
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 22, 2015 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been asked to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display for Silver Cross Field, in Joliet, Illinois, home to baseball’s Joliet Slammers. Installation is slated for late April.
“It’s an understatement to say we are elated to have Daktronics featuring its product at Silver Cross Field. The new board will provide a new entertainment experience never seen before by our fans. We look forward to not only entertaining our Slammers fans, but also the thousands of other fans which enter our stadium every year for other events.” said Josh Schaub, CEO of the Slammers.
The new display will measure more than 25 feet high by 35.5 feet wide and will feature a 15HD pixel layout for excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility. It features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be zoned into multiple windows to show a variety of content including live video, instant replays, game scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

In addition to the equipment installation, the Joliet Slammers will feature digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens, and venue announcements at the request of the team.
