Date Announced: 11 Jun 2013 Philips announces Zhaga certification and introduction of Fortimo LED Line Modules.Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA) today announced the introduction of some new upgrades and extensions to the Fortimo LED line systems, which now has Zhaga certification according to Book seven. The Fortimo linear LED modules will provide new lighting opportunities in even more applications. The following Philips Fortimo products are now Zhaga certified: Fortimo LED Line 1R, 3R Generation 2, Fortimo LED strip 1ft and Fortimo LED Line High Flux.Epco Berger, Philips' regional product manager LED Linear systems, comments on the Zhaga certification: "Philips Fortimo modules offer the best quality of light, and optimal system functionality. In addition, we strive to develop and improve our LED modules to be future proof by providing a number of constant factors in the areas of optical, mechanical, thermal and electrical interfaces. Should small modifications be needed, for a technologically more advanced solution, Philips will aim to do this so that adjustments an OEM needs to implement are minimal. Zhaga certifications of the Fortimo LED line modules underline this."Fortimo LED Line Generation 2 comes with an efficiency upgrade of approximately 10% with up to 150 lm/W at nominal current. It offers a reduction of manufacturing cost for OEMs, reducing mounting time of modules, reduced cost with standard bulk wire instead of dedicated LED line cables, increased flexibility without LED line cables and reduced wiring time with automatic robot wiring enabled. The second generation completes the portfolio with a Fortimo LED line 1ft 1100lm 1R HV and a wide range of Xitanium drivers: isolated 36W, 75W and non-isolated upgrades. The modules are ideal for linear profiles, trunking, waterproof luminaires, and both recessed and surface mounted office luminaires.With the introduction of the Fortimo LED Line High Flux, Philips offers an ideal solution for luminaires in high ceiling applications. The High Flux module has an efficiency of up to 130 lm/W, provides optimized manufacturing cost for OEMs, in a similar way to Fortimo LED line gen 2, allows operation at higher Tc, and functions with existing Xitanium drivers.
