Dallas County Schools partners with Lumetech Group to brighten transportation service centers with LEDs

Date Announced: 15 Mar 2011 DALLAS, March 14, 2011 – Lumetech Group, a leading provider of commercial LED lighting solutions, announced today the successful installation of an energy efficient LED lighting solution in Dallas County Schools (DCS) parking lots. Dallas County Schools, operators of one of the largest pupil transportation operators in the United States, maintains 10 service centers that house its 1,700 bus pupil transportation fleet.The DCS retrofit installation was funded in part by incentives provided by the Oncor LED Lighting Program as part of its commitment to reduce energy consumption and demand. Through this innovative program, Oncor offers significant incentives for business, government, and nonprofit customers to upgrade parking lots, garages, and other facilities with energy efficient LED lighting and controls.“Lumetech’s goal is to partner with government and corporate clients to provide high performance LED lighting solutions that save energy and costs. The Dallas County Schools installation serves as a textbook example of a successful public-private partnership that came together to create a win-win solution. For DCS, the installation will result in tremendous annual energy and maintenance cost savings. By completing the installation, DCS is also doing its part to reduce pressure on the energy grid,” said Lumetech CEO Ron Lusk.It is estimated that the annual energy savings to DCS will be in excess of 505,000 kWh per year.
