The DOE SSL R&D Portfolio Multi-Year Plan provides a description of the activities that the Department will undertake in the period of FY'07 through FY'12 to implement its mission.

The document includes the following:

  • an overview of the status of SSL technology
  • the current DOE SSL portfolio
  • the technology R&D plan
  • the SSL portfolio management plan
  • the SSL portfolio evaluation plan.

The DOE says that its Multi-Year Plan is expected to be "a living document" which will be updated periodically to incorporate new analyses, progress, and new research priorities as science evolves.
