Overview: This archived Webcast will lead the audience through the evaluation process of LED comparison and selection for specific applications including directional downlights and retrofit lamps. The presentation examine specific lumen output targets, and then considers how to reach those targets with different types of LEDs. The presenters cover efficacy considerations, bill of materials for the different alternatives, and the tradeoffs of color quality and temperature relative to the other factors. Overall the presenters will cover what they call the five elements of quality of light. Attendees will learn how the newest high-power LEDs compare with popular mid-power LEDs as well as multi-emitter arrays in satisfying those elements.
