LEDs and electronics assembly provider Distron expands automated SMT capabilities

Leading provider of electronic contract manufacturing services expands assembly line capabilities to fuel growth in 2015.

North Attleboro, MA - Distron Corporation, a North Attleboro, MA based leading Electronic Contract Manufacturer of Circuit Board Assemblies and Electromechanical Assemblies, has announced the addition of a fourth automated SMT assembly line. The company’s new assembly line has been purchased to support increased production demands during a continued business expansion. This new production line will be fully operational in mid-December of this year.

Distron’s expanded capacity is expected to allow for continued growth into the medical and robotics market segments. Don Petry, Distron’s VP of Sales said, “Recent new customer additions and new product releases have created the need for this extra manufacturing capacity. This new equipment keeps Distron in line with current state of the art manufacturing tools to support customer delivery and quality expectations.”

The additional line is projected to increase overall production capacity by 30%. The core of the new line will include a Mydata MY200DX pick-and-place machine. This agile high-speed machine is designed to satisfy todays customer’s flexible production requirements. In addition, Distron has also purchased a DEK automatic screen printer, a Heller reflow oven and a YESTech AOI system.
