ATLANTA -- Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today that Acuity OLED will showcase its latest generation of OLED luminaires during the Light + Building trade fair (March 30 - April 4) in Frankfurt, Germany. Three commercially available OLED luminaires -- Trilia™, Revel™ and Canvis™ -- will be exhibited in the LG Chem Stand A80. The OLED luminaires use OLED panels to unlock functional but artistic possibilities to enhance human relationships with lighting.
“OLED lighting is truly a ‘Technology for Life’ because of its soft illumination and the source’s flexibility -- enabling us to design lighting that can create an emotional connection between humans and light,” said Pete Shannin, Acuity Brands Lighting General Manager and Vice President, OLED Business Group. “These three luminaires will provide a unique lighting experience for attendees at the show, and demonstrate that OLED lighting has made significant advancements and is commercially viable today.”
Trilia™ OLED luminaires are designed to inspire creativity and imagination. Modular units allow designers to shape single or expansive networks of OLED lighting and create an exquisite interplay of symmetry and asymmetry. Organic patterns unfold and reveal themselves into designs that blur the distinction between architecture and nature. The 2012 Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Progress Report distinguished Trilia for its advanced level of innovation.
Revel™ OLED luminaires offer the ability to sculpt a ceiling or wall with brightness and texture. Designers can create patterns tailored to unique lighting needs. Because each module can be configured in any pattern, it offers versatility and functionality while offering a decorative quality. Revel was named the “Most Innovative Product of the Year” at the 2011 LIGHTFAIR® International Trade Show.
Canvis™ OLED luminaires allow freedom to sculpt and define the shape of a space. Whether Canvis is used as a single luminaire or in multiples, the luminaire provides substantial light to a space, while maintaining its unique and soft design. Canvis was distinguished by the 2012 IES Progress Report for advanced innovation and honored with a 2012 Innovation Award from IIDEX Canada.
"The new commercial OLED offering from Acuity Brands featuring state-of-the-art OLED panels by LG Chem is going to be an exciting exhibition at Light + Building,” said Joon Park, Head of Marketing and Sales, OLED Light Division, LG Chem. “We are thrilled that the Acuity Brands and LG Chem partnership is producing OLED lighting products that are among the most innovative fixtures on the market.”
All three products are available from Winona®, a division of Acuity Brands. The OLED luminaires can be used in a variety of spaces such as office, retail, hospitality and restaurants. They are offered in three color temperatures - 3000K, 3500K and 4000K – with a color rendering index of 85 to 90.
