Displays: new contracts for Lighthouse and Daktronics
Lighthouse has a new supply agreement with Sony and an order for a Samsung sign in London, while Daktronics will supply displays for Blue Man Group.
The two companies expect to develop contract maintenance programs and remote system monitoring services catered to Lighthouse’s large screen LED display systems. Sony will staff and maintain a North American field service organization complete with emergency spare parts, priority hardware exchange programs, field engineers, and overnight shipping. Lighthouse Technology’s service and parts center, located in Irvine, Calif., will provide material and technical support to Sony’s service organization.
Daktronics displays add color to Blue Man Group
Daktronics Inc. is to provide ProStar® video and ProAd® LED displays to intensify the innovative magic of Blue Man Group's performances at a new custom-designed theater at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
The project exceeds $1 million with shipment of the displays scheduled for mid-August. Beginning in September, fans will enjoy seeing dazzling Daktronics technology enhance Blue Man Group's multi-sensory live performances.
The ProStar® display will have 10 mm (0.39") center-to-center pixel spacing and an imposing viewing area approximately 8 feet high by 15 feet wide. The ProAd® digital display will feature 6 mm (0.24") pixel spacing and a viewing area approximately 7 feet high by 277 feet wide.
Lighthouse to install Samsung screen
The tender was co-ordinated by Lighthouse Northern Europe Sales Manager, Simon Taylor, and the P16i/o 16mm pixel pitch LED screen with 5,000 nit brightness will be installed this summer.
The Samsung screen is positioned next to the Coca Cola Lighthouse screen and will become Samsung’s flagship interactive advertising site. “The P16 LED video screen is ideal for this site, as has already been proven in Piccadilly Circus,” comments Taylor. “Its very high resolution, accurate colour reproduction and down angled LEDs to give a perfect viewing angle from street level, makes it perfect for this type of high profile advertising application. We’re extremely proud to have secured this tender and look forward another successful project.”
