New centerhung configuration to enhance San Diego Gulls events
BROOKINGS, S.D. – San Diego Gulls fans will have even more reason to cheer when the 2015-16 hockey season begins as Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been asked to work with Valley View Casino Center to provide a new centerhung LED video display system that will provide three and a half times more square footage than the previous system.
"The significantly larger video display area on the new board combined with the Valley View Casino Center's recently updated sound system represent tremendous enhancements to the game day environment," said Ari Segal, San Diego Gulls president of business operations.
“The Valley View Casino Center is excited to work with the Gulls management team to support the return of hockey to San Diego,” said Ernie Hahn, general manager of the Valley View Casino Center. “We are committed to providing a first-class experience for all fans that walk through our doors. While our building provides amazing sight lines from each and every seat, the new scoreboard will only enhance the experience for all fans.”
The new centerhung LED video display configuration will consist of four main displays, each measuring approximately 12 feet high by 22 feet wide and featuring 10 millimeter line spacing. Each display features variable content zoning which allows them to show one large image across the entire display or to be divided into multiple smaller zones to show a variety of live video, instant replays, scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
Hanging below the main displays, a ring display will measure 3 feet high by 74 feet in circumference and feature 15 millimeter line spacing. This LED video display can show supplemental information to the main displays while highlighting sponsors throughout events. All displays feature wide angle visibility to ensure a great view from any seat in the venue.
“We’re excited to work with Valley View Casino Center and the San Diego Gulls on this new video display project,” said Robin Hall, Daktronics regional manager. “This installation will be great way to welcome the inaugural AHL Gulls to San Diego as it will provide an elevated fan experience at every game. We're looking forward to seeing the final installation up and running to entertain fans this coming fall.”
Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
