Access Fixtures releases LED sports lighting systems for volleyball courts
LED lighting has been rapidly displacing older technologies for many reasons, primary among them its far greater light output per watt of energy. The new LED Volleyball court lighting system from Access Fixtures provides an outstanding 140 lumens per watt while reducing energy use by 50% as compared to traditional Pulse Start-Metal Halide lighting systems.
“The benefits of LED volleyball lighting and other sports court use are almost endless,” says Access Fixtures CEO Steven Rothschild. “We foresee all sports and public-area lighting switching to LED over the next term, and clubs, associations and public operators who switch now will see immediate savings in energy and maintenance costs, as well as significant improvements in light quality for players.”
Access Fixtures’ LED sports lighting system for volleyball courts ships complete with two 25-foot square steel poles, four 378w LED fixtures, and two mounting arms. This layout provides even lighting across the entire volleyball court with an average of 27.67 footcandles across the court. This even lighting ensures players will be able to see the ball during play without fixtures or poles obstructing views. Maintenance of the LED sports lighting system is reduced by using fixtures that are rated for 100,000 hours of use, completely removing the need for re-lamping.
Energy and maintenance savings are only the beginning with modern LED volleyball and other sports court lighting. Unlike sodium, halogen and halide lighting, LED lighting fixtures switch on and come to full brightness almost instantly—no warm-up, cool-down or power-cycle delays needed. Besides the convenience of instant-on when it’s game time, LED volleyball lighting permits efficient use for public facilities that are only lighted on player demand (whether pay-operated, keyed or open-timer), as the lighting will switch on to usable levels immediately, and off just as quickly to conserve power in between games.
Owners and operators of volleyball facilities are urged to contact their Access Fixtures representative today to get a jump on LED lighting’s advantages, and a scoring shot for their finances and improved playing conditions.
