LED EXPO/FLAT PANEL DISPLAY KOREA 2008 has announced it will add a day-long Executive Forum to its signature three-day technology conference at this year’s combined exhibition. The Executive Forum will be held on June 24, 2008 in Seoul – the first day of the four-day (June 24-27) event.
“LED EXPO/ FPD KOREA is the only trade show dedicated to the increasing interplay between the LED and FPD industries,” said Mun Ok-hyun, director of the LED EXPO Secretariat. “We’re going to sharpen our market niche position this year by launching the Executive Forum.
“The Forum will present senior executives from top tier companies who will look at our industries from a market and business perspective while the technology conference will continue to highlight the most recent technical breakthroughs.”
Executives from industry leaders such as Philips Lumileds, Osram Opto Semiconductors, Kodak and Cambridge Display Technologies are among the companies who have already committed panelists for the Executive Forum.
Blue-light LED legend Shuji Nakamura is also among those who have signed on for the Forum. Michael Lebby, president of the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association, will chair the program.
Breakthrough advances in OLED TVs is the most dramatic convergence of the LED and FPD industries today and will be a focus of the Executive Forum. Speakers will explore the impact of OLED and P-OLED lighting on the near and long-term future of the FPD market.
Looking to the future of solid state lighting, the Forum will address the role of government – with a focus on the US and Korea-- in developing and promoting the next generation of energy-saving lighting for the masses. A separate panel will look five years out at overall product trends and market strategies in the LED industry.
