AP Technologies and The Fox Group have signed a distribution agreement for the UK and Ireland.

The Fox Group Inc., a leading manufacturer of ultraviolet (UV) wavelength LEDs, has appointed AP Technologies Ltd., Bath, United Kingdom, as a distributor in the UK and Ireland for all of Fox Group’s lines of LEDs.

AP Technologies provide UK and Irish customers with a highly qualified local sales channel providing technical and commercial support with the objective of providing solutions which help them to compete in their markets.

"AP Technologies is very pleased to extend our LED offering to include The Fox Group’s UV devices,” said Martin Sharratt, Director of AP Technologies. “The 350-365 nm range is 'the new frontier' for LED technology and The Fox Group is well-placed to stimulate this market with an exciting technology roadmap for wavelength reduction and efficiency improvement."

Sharratt added that UK and Irish companies have proven to be keen adopters of LED technology. "I am confident that this pattern will be repeated in the UV region," he said.

Fox Group’s leading line of FoxUV™ LEDs is undergoing continuous improvement, and radiant power output per dollar has increased by over 100% in the past twelve months. The company says that its product development roadmap will position it to be the industry leader at the 350-365nm range.

These developments are enabling a host of applications in medical, biophotonics, sterilization, biotech sensors, instrumentation, machine vision, telecommunications, industrial curing, fault detection, anti-counterfeiting, forensics, military, and homeland security.

"AP Technologies is a great addition to Fox Group’s distributor network," said Barney O’Meara, President and CEO of Fox Group. “We are confident that AP Technologies will be highly effective in finding and serving the numerous innovative early adopters of UV LEDs in the UK and Ireland, where there exist strong traditions of pioneering in optics and optoelectronics.”
