LED and SSL industry suppliers to network at BLUE 2007
Blue spectrum light emitting diodes (LEDs) that produce bright white light are quickly proving to be the most energy efficient form of illumination, destined to replace all forms of conventional lighting fixtures.
The fifth Annual Advanced LED and Solid State Lighting Suppliers Conference, BLUE 2007, will take place on 17-19 April in Hsinchu, Taiwan to promote the transition to this energy-saving technology. More than 250 of the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry leaders are expected to attend this prestigious networking event.
Organized by CompoundSemi Online Inc., this year's BLUE event is built around the theme: "It's about the system". The opening day will feature two pre-conference workshops, with the full conference kicking off on 18 April, with a technical-focused forum. The last day of the conference will feature the BLUE event's traditional business forum.
The co-chair for BLUE 2007 is BJ Lee, president and CEO of one of the largest global LED manufacturers, Epistar of Taiwan. His fellow co-chairs are Brent York, CTO of TIR Systems of British Columbia, makers of the first fully-integrated light source based on LEDs and innovators of the "Lexel" technology, and Robert Walker, president and CEO of power LED chip manufacturer, BridgeLux, headquartered in California with manufacturing in Taiwan.
Keynote speakers for BLUE 2007 will include Neal Hunter, co-founder of the original blue spectrum LED manufacturing company, Cree, and co-founder of a new company on the SSL scene, LED Lighting Fixtures, based in North Carolina, and Robert Steele of Strategies Unlimited in Mountain View, California. Dr Steele is the foremost market researcher in the field of advanced LEDs.
The full agenda and speaker roster is constantly updated and available on BLUE conference website.
