LEDs Magazine checks out the latest moves in the lighting industry’s executive suites.

LEDs Magazine runs down recent corporate appointments in the lighting industry, from lighting manufacturer Signify to test equipment provider Instrument Systems and a newer player to the design and installation services market, Blingle! (a branding exclamation point).

Signify appoints acting CFO

The world’s largest lighting company has appointed group controller Zeljko Kosanovic as acting chief financial officer, replacing Javier van Engelen as of April 1, 2024. According to Signify, Van Engelen, who served as CFO for nearly four years, stepped down to pursue other interests. His LinkedIn profile shows that he has moved on to InPost, a Polish logistics company, as group CFO and board member.

With seven years at Signify, Kosanovic joined the company as CFO of Signify’s Digital Solutions and has been group controller since 2021. Prior to joining Signify, Kosanovic spent nearly 24 years at Schneider Electric across multiple executive and regional posts.

“I am very pleased that Zeljko has agreed to step up to the role of acting CFO,” said Eric Rondolat, CEO, in Signify’s media announcement. “He brings a comprehensive knowledge of Signify’s business and a proven track record in financial leadership positions that places him in a strong position to support our ongoing leadership of the industry.”

Instrument Systems announces new managing director

Moving to the test & measurement equipment segment, light-measurement systems developer Instrument Systems — a subsidiary of the Konica Minolta Group — has passed the managing director torch from Yasumasa Kuboyama to Dr. Yuta Yamanoi. Yasumasa Kuboyama will return to Japan to take on a new role in the Konica Minolta Sensing business unit.

Dr. Yamanoi has more than 20 years of experience in color and light measurement technology and a PhD in earth and space sciences. He began working in development for Konica Minolta Sensing in Japan, and transferred to Konica Minolta Sensing Americas as business development manager in 2016. According to ResearchGate, Dr. Yamanoi has been a contributing author to 12 scientific publications on various color and spectral measurement topics.
