LEDs Magazine 40 Under 40 Profile: Jake Engle

July 24, 2020
Working as lighting application specialist at ESCO Energy Systems Group, Jake Engle helps to perform lighting and energy audits that can identify energy savings for customers.
Working for an energy services company (ESCO) is unique in that much of the work is undertaken at the direct benefit of the customer. The ESCO makes money by providing systems and services, but the front line is engaged to ensure the customer return on investment (ROI).

Jake Engle is on that front line at Energy Systems Group, working with K‒12 schools, universities, and municipalities providing lighting system and energy audits that can pinpoint opportunities for customer savings.

About Engle, a colleague said, “Jake defines being a team player. He’s a quick study and more than willing to stretch for the betterment of the team, company, and customers.”

Engle has progressed in his career both learning on the job and through continuing education. He earned a Certificate of Measurement Verification (CMVP) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and is also an AEE Certified Energy Manager (EM-IT). Further, he has an OSHA 30 Certification. Engle earned a degree in agricultural finance from Purdue University. He has volunteered outside of his professional life including leading a Haiti Mission that involved installing a solar energy project.
