LEDs Magazine 40 Under 40 Profile: Jared (JD) Davidson

July 24, 2020
Seoul Semiconductor vice president of the Americas JD Davidson calls upon his knowledge of operations, product management, and engineering.

Like many of our 40 Under 40 Class, JD Davidson’s career has spanned the globe and key roles in organizations ranging from LED manufacturers to a major lighting manufacturer. In nominating Davidson, a former colleague said, “He is well-known, well-liked, and more importantly, super knowledgeable about LEDs both from a performance as well as a pricing perspective. His unmatched experiences as a sales leader gives him an excellent vantage point to work to find a mutually beneficial outcome for both supplier and customer.”

Indeed, Davidson has worked for three top-tier LED manufacturers, and once covered a 14-country territory while living in Europe. Today, he covers all of the Americas for Seoul Semiconductor, managing both sales and operations. His experience includes managing the complex relationship between operations, product management, and engineering.

Davidson earned an undergraduate degree in international economics from the University of Georgia and an MBA in international sales from Kennesaw State University.
