Smart standards. Smarter lighting

Zhaga, a global lighting-industry consortium, introduces a specification which defines a standardized interface between outdoor LED luminaires and modules for sensing and communication. By extending the scope of interface specifications to smart components such as sensors and connectivity modules and to interoperability, Zhaga opens new business opportunities in digital lighting and service models. Zhaga is standardizing components of LED luminaires, including LED light engines, LED modules, LED arrays, holders, electronic control gear (LED drivers) and connectivity fit systems. This helps to streamline the LED lighting supply chain, and to simplify LED luminaire design and manufacturing.
