Austin A. Gelder, LC

Austin is a Lighting Technical Advisor Role with UL, supporting lighting photometric and compliance testing and representing UL in many industry events and committees. Prior to joining UL, Austin spent several years in the lighting industry in the areas of LED Product Development, Technical Consulting, and Lighting Testing and Measurement. His past work has included working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to lead the development of the ENERGY STAR Luminaires and Lamps specifications, performing several lighting market analysis for Natural Resources Canada, and working as a Technical Manager and Product Manager LED Lamps for a lighting manufacturer in Atlanta, GA. Additionally Austin became Lighting Certified through the NCQLP in 2013, participates in the Illumination Engineering Society’s (IES) Testing Procedures Committees, and is involved with the American Society for Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) efforts to develop metrics and test methods for horticultural lighting.
