Carmanah shows strong revenue growth in 2006

Solar-powered lighting specialist Carmanah Technologies Corporation has reported a record revenue of CAN $62.4 million for 2006, representing a 61% increase over 2005. The company's core Solar LED Lighting Group had an annual revenue of $26.95 million, an increase of 46% over 2005. Revenues in all primary solar LED lighting markets grew year over year with an average gross margin of 45% in 2006. Revenues from the LED Sign Group were $4.44 million, in 2006, down from $4.73 million in 2005. The remaining revenue ($31 million) came from the Solar Power Systems Group.

Element opens UK office in London design district

LED video technology specialist Element Labs has opened a London office to better serve its growing customer base in the UK. Located at Perseverance Works in London’s Shoreditch design district, Element Labs’ neighbors include architectural, design and other creative firms. The new office includes an extensive demo facility loaded with the full-range of Element Labs products. The facility is open for designers to explore the capabilities and possibilities of Element Labs solutions for their own projects.

"London is a major design hub for high-profile international architectural projects," says Mark DeGruyter, Element Labs' UK operations director. "Element Labs wants to contribute to that creative energy."

Lamina Ceramics announces new VP of marketing

Lamina Ceramics has appointed Daniel Polito as vice-president of marketing. Polito brings 25 years of international marketing management experience to this New Jersey-based developer of LED lighting.

Frank Shinneman, Lamina's president and CEO, said: "Dan Polito is ideal to serve as our chief marketing officer and lead Lamina's efforts in this area as we continue to develop our revolutionary line of LED products."

Radiant Imaging names Doug Kreysar as COO

Radiant Imaging has promoted Douglas Kreysar to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Before this appointment, Kreysar has been vice-president of operations at Radiant since 2001. In his expanded role, Kreysar will be responsible for all internal operations of the company, including mManufacturing, quality, legal, finance, engineering and human resources.

Tryka LED Ltd appoints new staff member

Following a move to bigger and purpose-built premises at the beginning of the year, Tryka LED Ltd continues to grow. To accommodate the demands of their UK customers with a more personal and dedicated approach, has appointed Dave Hartley as their new UK Northern Sales Manager.

Hartley joins the company after having spent several years in the industry, working for companies such as BOSE, Loud Technologies and, more recently, event production company Graham Fisher Productions.
