Zumtobel Group announces LED sales of $20.9 million

Zumtobel's sales of LED products accounted for less than 1.5% of the Group's total revenue for 2005-6.
Zumtobel Group, the lighting manufacturer based in Dornbirn, Austria, has reported revenues of EUR 1.18 billion ($1.51 billion) for the year ended April 2006. Revenues for the previous year were EUR 1.13 billion.

Earnings before interest and taxes were EUR 99.5 million, adjusted for restructuring costs and non-recurring items. Net profit was EUR 43.6 million, up from EUR 29.1 million in 2004/5.

Zumtobel launched two new LED start-ups – Ledon Lighting GmbH and Lexedis Lighting GmbH – during 2005/6, highlighted LED activities as being important for future of the Group

Revenue from LED lighting products and LED components were EUR 16.4 million ($20.9 million), up 36.1% over the previous year.

Since the end of its last financial year, Zumtobel had an initial public offering in May 12, 2006, which increased the share capital of the company to EUR 111 million and raised gross proceeds of EUR 161.8 million. The Zumtobel family retains 30% ownership of the Group's equity.
