Havells introduces Superia CMI lighting lineup

Aug. 23, 2012
Date Announced: 23 Aug 2012 Atlanta, GA – Havells, a global leader in the lighting industry, is now offering its Superia CMI line of compact, efficient, and long-lasting high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. These HID lamps use ceramic technology designed to deliver crisper, brighter, and more reliable light for retail locations, lobbies, galleries, and cultural venues. At the heart of the Superia CMI line is a radically redesigned, proprietary arc tube, which results in a number of performance advantages over similar technologies. “Most of our competitors rely on cylindrical arc tubes made of two-to-five pieces,” said Havells USA General Manager Kevin Doughty. “Our unique one-piece elliptical arc tube offers a number of performance gains, including superior color consistency and lumen maintenance—both of which are critical in retail environments.”Because of the one-piece elliptical arc tube’s shape and simplicity, Havells’ Superia CMI lamps are more efficient, deliver more lumens per watt, and maintain their brightness better over the life of the lamps. Improved color uniformity, faster start-up times, and more uniform light distribution with no dark spots make Superia CMI lamps perfect for store displays, retail windows, museum exhibits, and general interior lightingWith a CRI (color rendering index) of 90 or better—compared to the 80-85 CRI of the typical LED, CFL, and competing HID— these ceramic products also ensure that display items look their best, with vibrant colors that pop. The elliptical shape of the arc tube in each of the Superia CMI lamps allows the lamps to be universal burn, while offering superior light consistency and minimal color shift between burn positions. Reduced corrosion by using a ceramic arc tube also maximizes service life, giving most Superia CMI lamps over 12,000 hours of operation. At the heart of the line are three lamps designed for use in luminaires: the CMI-T, CMI- TC, CMI-TD.The Superia CMI-T is available in three different wattages—35W, 75W, and 150W—with light output from 3700 to 15000 lumens, and a lifespan ranging from 9000 to 15000 hours. The Superia CMI-TC is available in 35W and 70W models, offering 3700 or 6900 lumens, respectively, and an average life of 9000 hours. And the Superia CMI-TD is available in two 70W offerings and two 150W offerings, with light output ranging from 6900 to 15000 lumens, and an average lifespan from 9000 to 12000 hours. Also available is the Superia CMI-T mini, an ultra-compact 20W lamp measuring just two inches long and half an inch wide. It produces 1900 lumens and has an average lifespan of 9000 hours. The featured twist & lock lamp base also makes installation and re-lamping very easy. For replacement of incandescent and halogen lamps, the Superia CMI PAR-20 and CMI PAR-30 deliver increased efficiency and cooler operation, as well as superior color rendering compared to LED and CFL lamps. The ceramic arc tubes also offer big upgrades over traditional quartz HID lamps, by drastically improving lumen maintenance and lamp life. The Havells Superia CMI line is now available and shipping.
