Willet: A Dazzling Take on the Classic Bell Jar from Hudson Valley Lighting®

With roots dating back to medieval times, the bell jar lantern has become an elegant and timeless addition to the home. For centuries the bell jar has proven itself a classic design with endless versatility. Perfect as a commanding entry piece or as a gorgeous addition to the kitchen or bath, the new Willet collection by Hudson Valley Lighting demands attention while casting beautiful shadows through its textured glass.

Using the Venetian glass technique -- with a proud tradition dating back to the 13th century -- master glass crafters fuse an artful array of clear rods to Willet's blown glass to dazzling effect. Unlike rock crystal and cut glass, Venetian glass is not faceted or cut but rather melted in molds, shaped and fire polished -- creating a signature soft appearance. A single tungsten filament bulb adds dimension and depth in the center. Other versions include three- and four-light pendants. Willet's clean metalwork makes way for Hudson Valley's fresh interpretation of the celebrated classic -- bringing the bell jar lantern into the twenty-first century. The collection is available in semi-flush and pendant options in a variety of sizes in old bronze and polished nickel finishes.
