Reinforcing its leadership position in the solid state lighting industry, North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is showcasing at LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI®) 2014 the first to market ProPoint® Raceway LED Tunnel Lighting System, a complete LED solution that provides uniform, linear, low glare illumination for continuous end-to-end or spaced connection. Available in 4.5 and 9-foot versions, the long-life raceway system comes assembled with integral electrical components and attached luminaires, minimizing installation labor time and costs.
According to the recent Navigant Research report "Outdoor and Parking Lighting Systems," worldwide shipments of LED luminaires for outdoor and parking applications are forecasted to grow from 4.1 million annually in 2014 to nearly 14 million in 2023.
The new raceway LED lighting system, in addition to other innovative lighting technologies from OSRAM SYLVANIA, will be shown at Booth #3108 at LFI 2014, the world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference. LFI 2014 is sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). Assembled in the United States, the ProPoint Raceway Lighting System uses up to 45% less energy than traditional high intensity discharge (HID) lighting systems and bi-level dimmable down to 50% for additional energy savings. The aesthetically appealing lighting system utilizes the OSRAM ProPoint Industrial Linear luminaire which has an efficacy of 82 lumens per watt (LPW) and a life rating of 50,000 hours (L70), offering significant maintenance cost avoidance over traditional lighting options. The 200W 4.5-foot version delivers 16,400 lumens, and the 400W 9-foot version delivers 32,800 lumens.
Covered by the standard OSRAM 5-year luminaire warranty, the system is UL1598 listed for wet locations, IP66-rated as a complete system, resistant to high pressure hose down, and made with a corrosive-resistant Type 3, Class 1 hard anodized aluminum alloy. It is also designed with integral 10kV surge suppression and internal fusing, a diffuse remote phosphor lens with lambertian distribution, and the ability to connect and power other lighting and electrical needs.

OSRAM SYLVANIA will also be showing at LFI OSRAM OPTOTRONIC Constant Current Step-Dimmable LED Power Supplies that are available in two wattages (30W and 50W) options and offer simple and effective light control through bi-level power line dimming down to 50% with five fixed output current options per model in traditional linear housing. Bi-level dimming is realized through the use of two hot wire/AC positions. Both connections on equals 100 percent light output, while either one off equals 50 percent. OSRAM OPTOTRONIC power supplies are UL Class 2 rated for safe operation and are covered by a five-year warranty.
SYLVANIA and OSRAM ULTRA A-Line LED lamps -- enhancements throughout the product portfolio that include "sunset effect" dimming, 3-way omnidirectional lumen output, and a new lightweight design with a smooth heat sink, offering a more traditional looking product that customers are familiar seeing in their table lamps and pendants. The new ULTRA A-Line LED lamps offer energy savings up to 85% over incandescent alternatives, and have a long 25,000 hours rated life (L70) and an 80+ CRI.

Available in 2700K correlated color temperature (CCT), the omnidirectional SYLVANIA ULTRA 3-Way A-Line LED lamp is equivalent to a 3-way incandescent 25/40/75W lamp, but uses only 4W, 7W or 14W and delivers 300, 500 or 1100 lumens. The omnidirectional SYLVANIA ULTRA SE™ A-Line LED lamps have a "sunset effect" feature for incandescent-like dimming, resulting in a warm CCT shift from 3000K to 2000K as the lamp dims. Dimmable down to 10%, the 7W (40W incandescent equivalent) version delivers 450 lumens, and the 10W (60W incandescent equivalent) lamp delivers 800 lumens. OSRAM ULTRA Omnidirectional A-Line LED lamps are newly designed energy-efficient LED replacements for 40W and 60W incandescent A19 lamps, with a unique light pipe for superior light distribution and a lightweight, smooth heat sink. Dimmable down to 10% and available with either a clear or frosted bulb, the new LED lamps are available in 2700K and 5000K CCT. The 6W (40W incandescent equivalent) version delivers 450 lumens, and the 10W (60W incandescent equivalent) lamp delivers 800 lumens.
OSRAM PermaLED® High Bay Luminaire -- a highly efficient, low profile lighting solution that provides up to 16,800 lumens and has a long 100,000 hours rated life (L86). Available in 110W and 145W versions in 4000K and 5000K correlated color temperatures (CCT), the luminaires have an efficacy of up to 113 lumens per watt (LPW), delivering between 11,000 and 16,800 lumens. The LED solution offers energy savings of up to 67% when compared to traditional HID options typically used in high bay applications. An integral occupancy and photocell sensor option is also available, and the luminaire offers 0-10V dimming down to 10%, which enable even more energy savings. The PermaLED High Bay luminaires operate on 120-277V, 347V or 480V input voltages. They are also DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) Qualified for utility incentives, Listed for damp locations and backed by a five-year warranty.
OSRAM ModuleX® Recessed Multi-Lamp Luminaires -- a family of easily customizable LED fixtures for accent, display and downlighting for new construction and remodel applications. With a long 50,000 hours rated life (L70), the ModuleX offering includes scalable, modular components (housings, LED sources, reflectors, gimbal mounts, and accessories) in a variety of configurations making it easy to customize the light to a particular application. They are designed for trimless installation in drywall ceilings, and also include trimmed models with a 1/2" flange.
OSRAM ModuleX Recessed Multi-Lamp Luminaires come in two or three lamp housings with a wide range of lumen outputs, reflectors and color temperature options, including 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K. SYLVANIA ULTRA RT4 & RT6 Dual Axis Gimbal LED Downlight Kits
Suitable for sloped ceilings and wall washing, the damp-rated 4-inch and 6-inch ULTRA RT series features an adjustable gimbal with a 30 degree tilt. The gimbal’s friction blade design allows the downlight to be installed in any position within the housing aperture, and the 360° horizontal rotation capability of the gimbal head offers easy aiming and adjustment. Replacing 50W R20 and 65W BR30 incandescent lamps respectively, the 4-inch version delivers 600 lumens via 9W (66 LPW) and the 6-inch kit delivers 900 lumens via 13W (69 LPW), providing energy savings up to 80 percent. ModuSYS™ LED Conversion Kit -- a complete high efficiency linear solution for general illumination and fluorescent replacement applications. Providing up to 38 percent energy savings over traditional fluorescent systems, the AC-powered LED modules are available in three kits to fit 1x4, 2x2 and 2x4 fixtures. The ModuSYS LED Conversion Kit is UL8750 Recognized for integration into new luminaire designs and UL1598C Listed for retrofit and upgrade of existing fluorescent luminaires.

This lamp combines innovative optical and mechanical design features to achieve a light distribution pattern that reduces lumen loss from within the traditional recessed luminaire. Compared to traditional fluorescent lamps, ULTRA HE T8 LED lamps offer higher efficacy and equivalent light output.

The ULTRA HE T8 LED lamp has a dedicated external driver requiring non-shunted G13 medium bi-pin lamp holders. It is a shatterproof, reliable system with high power factor of over 0.90 and low THD of less than 20 percent, ensuring a high performance commercial solution with an LPW of up to 129. Delivering up to 1150 lumens at 10W for 2-foot lamps and 2450 lumens for 4-foot lamps at 19W, the T8 LED lamps are available in 3000K, 3500K, 4100K and 5000K color temperatures with a color rendering index of 80. The lamps are glass-free, vibration and impact-resistant, and suitable for dry and damp locations. For retrofit applications, lamps and drivers are offered together as 1-lamp or 2-lamp retrofit kits. QUICKTRONIC® HELIOS™ 10 -- a universal voltage dimming system for T8 fluorescent lighting applications. The ballast interfaces with standard low voltage (0-10VDC) controllers, making them ideal for office lighting or automated building applications, both in new construction and retrofit projects. Depending on your control strategy, dimming ballasts offer energy savings of 20 to 75 percent compared to fixed output T8 electronic systems. The QUICKTRONIC HELIOS 10 T8 ballasts are dimmable to 10% on 0-10V dimmers and feature anti-flash circuitry.

The luminaire has a recessed mount that allows the front surface of canopy to be nearly flush with the ceiling, creating a clean unobtrusive look. As a replacement option for up to 250W HID luminaires, the LED solution saves up to 74% on energy costs. It has an efficacy of up to 117 LPW and is available in 25W, 40W, 55W and 72W versions that deliver 2500 to 8400 lumens.
OSRAM PermaLED Low Profile Canopy Luminaires are highly efficient, low profile, LED solutions in Type V garage and canopy distributions. Now with expanded wattage and low glare lens options (25W and 72W in addition to the existing 40W and 55W versions), they can replace HID luminaires up to 250W, providing up to 81% energy savings while delivering 2500 to 8400 lumens. New integral motion and photosensor options can result in further energy savings. In addition to being ideal for parking garage and canopy lighting, the luminaire is also well suited for industrial low bay applications.
All three of these new LED luminaires are DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) Qualified for utility incentives, have a rated life of 100,000 hours (L86), offer 0-10V dimming down to 10% and are available in 4000K and 5000K correlated color temperatures (CCT).
OSRAM LED Luminaires Help Boston be Energy-efficient, Cost-conscious
One example of how OSRAM LED luminaires are helping parking garages save money and energy is the EDIC Central Parking Garage in Boston, MA. A wide variety of tenants, including biomedical manufacturers, beer brewers, curtain makers and computer manufacturers, use the Boston Marine Industrial Park (BMIP) parking facility owned and operated by the Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC), part of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the city’s planning and economic development agency. It was important for the EDIC to provide the tenants with a well-lit environment that made them feel safe at night. The EDIC used 150W high pressure sodium (HPS) luminaires throughout the garage, which were causing issues. The older HPS fixtures used a significant amount of energy resulting in high electricity bills, emitted a less appealing yellow light and suffered from burnouts at a high replacement rate, which increased maintenance costs.
After an extensive review of several LED solutions on the market, the EDIC chose the PermaLED Low Profile LED Canopy Luminaire because of its high efficacy. SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS), an industry leader in turnkey energy management solutions, audited the project and oversaw the installation. Each of the existing 450 HPS fixtures were replaced with the 55W LED luminaire, not only helping the city save money and energy but also providing bright white light that improved lighting uniformity. Unlike the yellow light from the HPS lamps, the vastly improved color rendering index of the LED luminaires can facilitate quick vehicle identification and increase pedestrian visibility, enhancing safety and feelings of comfort in garage facilities.
As a result of upgrading the lighting at the BMIP parking facility to PermaLED Low Profile LED Canopy Luminaires from OSRAM SYLVANIA, the EDIC anticipates an annual saving of 473,040 kWh, translating into $70,956 in energy savings and avoidance of 530,070 pounds of CO2 emissions from electricity plants. In addition, because of the long-life of the luminaires, the agency also expects to save approximately $15,300 in maintenance costs per year.
