Energy Management Association to Conduct Atlanta Seminar & Exam for New Class of EMPs

(Washington, D.C., Sept. 9, 2014)—The Energy Management Association (EMA) announced today that it will conduct a seminar and exam for a new class of Energy Management Professionals (EMP) on November 3-4, 2014 in Atlanta, GA.

The EMP is the energy management certification program created and administered by EMA. It provides a complete framework for a commissioning-based, energy management process that achieves maximum energy efficiency and optimum building performance. The instructor for the seminar is EMA President Andy Heitman, CxA, EMP, CEM, CEA, LEED AP, and the owner of Building Energy Sciences, LLC.

Although just launched in April, the EMA has already certified over 70 EMPs who are currently working in the field. The EMA seminar and exam is based on the process described in the Energy Management Guideline.
