June 26, 2015
SPRING GROVE, ILL – Intermatic, a leader in energy management solutions, has announced the successful completion of its 2015 Contractors Council Conference. Held in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 17 – 18, the conference brought together 10 Contractor Council members and 14 representatives from Intermatic.

Intermatic’s Contractors Council is composed of representatives from 14 different electrical contractor firms concerned with energy management, covering both commercial and residential markets. The Council serves as a conduit for contractor perspectives on market trends, customer needs, and new product development.

The two-day conference began with a mini-trade show displaying new Intermatic products and an opening introductory session, followed by dinner and socializing. The second day was devoted to round table discussions and hands-on evaluations of new products and new product concepts.

“Intermatic has made it our first priority to listen to the voice of the customer and let those needs drive our product development,” said Liz Jacobs, Intermatic vice president of marketing. “We value the opportunity to get their input on our strategic direction.”

Contractor Council attendees included Rick Armour, Armour & Sons, Bob Gibbs, Eckardt Electric, Nick Jonson, EC Company, Dave Loar, Meridian Center Electric, Allen McCain, Bright Future Electric, Chazz Shrader, Electric Plus, Ira Stahl, Stahl Electric, Gary Marchewski, Stahl Electric, Tony Staiano, Miller Electric Company, and John Zelman, The Brandt Companies.

“Intermatic’s research and development engineers each showed detailed product knowledge and passion for the lines they are personally responsible for. I really appreciated that the engineers listened and took notes. Their openness allowed frank and straightforward conversation,” said John Zelman, senior vice president, The Brandt Companies. “I believe it was a successful forum and I am looking forward to many more.”

Intermatic plans to make the Conference an annual event and will also seek Council feedback in quarterly surveys.
