UL de Mexico is accredited as a certification organization under new Peru Energy Labeling Requirements
Energy efficient products are trending around the world, and as a result many countries are implementing new regulations or updating their existing requirements to better address this growing trend. In Latin America specifically, countries with no prior requirements are beginning to regulate products. This new landscape means manufacturers must pay close attention to the requirements in their target markets to avoid potential import or sales issues with their products.
In response to the request of global customers identifying Peru as important to their global strategies, our UL Mexico Certification Office became accredited as a Certification Organization for refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners under these new regulations. This recognition under the Peru Energy Labeling Requirements makes UL one of the first accredited Certification Organizations for these products and helps our clients gain market access with confidence.
These new regulations are effective April 8, 2019, and UL’s qualified staff is prepared to deliver testing, certification and market surveillance services. Testing can be conducted at one of our test labs or at a manufacturer’s approved laboratory.
