Warehouse Lighting Offers Kits to Retrofit T12 Fluorescent Fixtures with T8 or T5 Lamps

Warehouse Lighting is proud to announce the offering of strip or troffer / recessed retrofit kits which can be used to convert existing T12 lighting fixtures to utilize T8 or T5 lamps.

Warehouse Lighting, a leader in providing warehouse, industrial, commercial and residential lighting products is now offering fluorescent strip and troffer / recessed retrofit kits. They are a money-saving way to upgrade current fixtures and are easy to install.

As of July 2012, the U.S. Department of Energy mandated that T12 ballasts and bulbs can no longer be manufactured in the USA or Canada. This means that there is an estimated one billion T12 fixtures currently in use that will have to be converted to either T8 or T5 technology.

T8 and T5 lamps are more efficient and last longer than T12 lamps. T5 lamps degrade only 5% during the life of the lamp (20% for T8s) compared to 46% for T12s. T12s typically require magnetic ballasts while T8s and T5s require more efficient electronic ballasts. T8 and T5 lamps also provide better quality of light, reduced glare and improved lens design.

Installation is performed in just a few easy steps:
- Remove the old lamps, ballast(s), ballast cover, brackets and original lamp holders
- Wire and attach the new ballast to the luminaires
- Connect new ballast and lamp holders into new brackets
- Route wires through luminaire channel on new brackets
- Insert ballast cover or reflector
- Insert new lamps

Warehouse Lighting offers kits that can be used to upgrade the following types of light fixtures:
- Industrial Strip -- 4 and 8 foot
- Troffer / Recessed -- 1x4, 2x2, 2x4
