Vode Lighting announces ZipOne LED 707 low-profile linear lighting system

Sonoma, CA. Vode, the Sonoma-based linear lighting design and manufacturing company, is pleased to announce the debut of it’s ultra low-profile ZipOne LED 707 lighting solution. Vode’s newest product integrates cutting edge LED technology plus minimalistic product design to create an extremely slim lighting system with multiple mounting solutions and common lengths making it ideal for any lighting application. ZipOne delivers both, a very low profile and optimal efficiency, up to 88 lumens per Watt, with the use of Vode’s own constant-current Zipper LED boards, combined with the latest generation LED diodes.

The ZipOne efficiently addresses three of the lighting design industry’s most common challenges: 1) to provide excellent ultra low-profile task, under and over cabinet, cove and accent lighting, 2) to deliver LED lighting performance and quality at the highest available industry levels, and 3) to provide even greater cost and energy efficiency over previous levels of achievement.

The product is Vode’s newest linear and modular LED lighting solution -- whether used with workstations, cabinetry, shelving and stacks for office, educational, institutional or laboratory applications, or for cove, perimeter slot and accent lighting in retail and hospitality applications. It delivers advanced energy-efficient light without compromising light quality or the minimalistic design aesthetic that Vode is known for.

Elegant ultra low-profile design and hidability

It features an extremely slim design and hidability with a minimalistic, elegant form that's designed to be either seen or hidden. It measures just 0.3” (7mm) x 1.14” (29mm) and comes in standard lengths of 2’, 3’, 4’, 5’ and 6’. Its sleek and robust yet lightweight design makes it appropriate for installation wherever quality and aesthetics matter.

Truly mountable anywhere

The super slim design allows ZipOne to fit in very tight spaces. It mounts with magnet strips, double sided tape or low profile clips and can be positioned in any surface orientation making it ideal for direct or indirect task, shelf and cove applications. It’s so small that ZipOne fits with all architectural styles.

Superior and seamless light quality

ZipOne is an extremely adaptive solution with 2mm end caps allowing the distribution of virtually seamless washes of light when lengths are mounted end-to-end. It’s asymmetric profile reduces task lighting glare and multiple color temperatures are available from 2700k-4000k. It’s also a high performance solution delivering 88 lumens per Watt and 293 lumens per foot (305mm) at just 3 Watts per foot (305mm). In June 2014 Vode will release versions delivering up to 900 lumens per foot. Color rendering averages 85 CRI at 4000K. It’s built on Vode’s own constant current Zipper board technology.

Easy specification and installation

The minimalistic design and modular length options make the ZipOne Vode’s simplest lighting to specify. It ships with a 6’ micro cord including an in-line on/off switch and internationally interchangeable wall plug. Remote driver options will also be available in a number of weeks. The simple product design and high manufacturing quality combined with the simple mounting options makes the ZipOne easy to both, install and maintain.

About Vode

In 2005, industrial designer Scott Yu yearned to use his design talent to create enduring and environmentally mindful products. He saw an opportunity to apply design thinking to the lighting arena that looked ready for profound changes -- as well as growing awareness of environmental impacts of lighting in energy consumption. Scott was so inspired that he began hosting meetings with designers, technology and business thinkers to hatch a plan to create the perfect architectural lighting company. At the same time, Northern California native Tom Warton, a lighting industry entrepreneur, imagined better ways to think about linear lighting and a more principled way to run a lighting company.

In early 2005, Scott invited Tom to attend one of his meetings and ideas sparked.
