That’s what Kichler is introducing with its new line of LED accent fixtures. Kichler’s LED fixtures offer five watts of warm, white light with low energy use -- 40,000 hours of life, or on average, 18 years of consumption, and longevity isn’t the only perk. “LED lighting, like energy efficient lighting, has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of the quality of light emitted,” said Maria Burk, the Kichler product manager who oversaw the line’s development. “No longer is LED synonymous with intruding blue hues. Kichler’s LED products are in the same temperature range as their incandescent counterparts, so they emit the same color rendering and achieve dramatic highlighting effects at a lower wattage.”Powered by Nichia Corporation, Kichler’s LED products are small in profile for use in tight spaces, and the entire system is connected to a direct burial LED 40 watt driver, then wired into a low-voltage transformer. The line also offers faceted hexagon fixtures for better wedging between rocks. Available in die-cast aluminum or polymer options for underwater use, the LED products can be used for up or down detail lighting, near or underwater, staked, or flange mounted for deck and rail light. They are offered with a complete line of accessories, including colored lenses in blue, amber, green and red. Pro Series LV Junction™Not only is Kichler making landscape lighting look better than ever, it’s revolutionizing the ease of wiring it. Kichler’s new Pro Series LV Junction™ was designed by contractors, for contractors, to meet the need for safe, fast and easy installation. The first technology of its kind to be listed under UL 1838 and rated up to 15V, this installation tool features plug-in ports to power as many as six different fixtures. For burial 6” under ground, the Junction is topped with a stainless steel stem, which can be easily located with a metal detector if connectors need added or changed. Select Kichler fixtures will now include leads pre-wired with Junction connectors, and additional universal connectors are available for use on all low-voltage fixtures.
