Date Announced: 04 Jul 2007 Aachen/Germany – AIXTRON AG today announced the order of one AIX 2600G3 MOCVD system from Arima Optoelectronics Corporation, Taiwan. The new tool will be used for the volume production of red, yellow and yellow/green ultra-high brightness (UHB) LEDs.Arima, which is a world-leading manufacturer of high brightness LED wafers, operates multiple AIXTRON Planetary Reactor systems enabling high volume mass production of LEDs and related chip products.The new AIX 2600G3 system will be set up in the 49x2" wafer configuration and will shortly be delivered and installed at Arima’s state-of-the-art facilities in Taiwan.Dr. P. J. Wang, President of Arima comments: "AIXTRON MOCVD systems are at the leading edge of productivity and process performance and the existing AIX 2600G3 MOCVD systems have performed very well. "Comparing it with other available tools made it an easy decision to order a further one. They provide excellent production throughput and run to run reproducibility which are crucial for the economic mass production of UHB LEDs."We once again turned to AIXTRON for the simple reason that in our experience, they have proven to be superior to all other systems available on the market. Within the past year we already ordered three AlGaInP systems which were smoothly transferred into production and are performing very satisfactorily. Therefore we ordered this new MOCVD system in exactly the same configuration.”
