Alpha-One unveils high output power LED for sensing instruments

Date Announced: 26 Sep 2007 *** High intensity has been realized with normal forward current.Alpha-One successfully developed small and compact LED in various peak-wavelength with extremely high output intensity by using special packaging technology.Packed on a precise and compact surface mount package (5.8x6.0mm) with reflective mirror inside, Alpha-One’s mirror type LED realizes greater performance of radiation efficiency, more than 90% of LED chip. Its shaft radiant intensity is about two times as high as the one of the normal molded type LED. The light from LED chip emitted onto the integral mirror inside of the package is reflected outside as the well-controlled parallel beam (Standard: ±7°) with great performance. As to visible light, Red LED (625nm) realizes 25cd, Green LED (530nm): 60cd, Blue LED (470nm): 20cd at IF=20mA. As to infrared, 220mW/sr of radiated intensity can be obtained at 850nm (IF=50mA).In order to make them suitable and more convenient for light source in different tasks such as security system (IR illuminator for CCD cameras), blood instruments, medical analyzer and optical data transmission, Alpha-One is prepared for LED with various kinds of peak-wavelength in addition to the normal RGB and infrared rays: 505nm, 580mm, 660nm, 680nm, 700mm, 730nm, 760nm, 780nm, 810nm, 830nm and more.Applications- Illumination (both indoor and outdoor purpose)- Light source for security IR cameras- Light source for individual identification system to detect iris, finger print, vein, etc.- Light source for image detection- Light source for medical analyzer including blood detector- Optical transmissionAlpha-One also introduces the ones with larger package (8.0x8.0 mm), which has narrower beam (±4°) and higher performance (700 mW/sr for 850 nm / IF=50 mA, for instance).The LED with the different wavelength and board assembly service are also available.
