Under the agreement, Samsung America will gain exclusive rights to distribute to Samsung-affiliated companies licenses for Vitex's proprietary Flexible Glass and thin-film encapsulation technologies.According to industry observers NanoMarkets, flexible and/or organic devices are forecasted to grow very rapidly to over $15 billion by 2012. As thin flexible electronic circuits, displays and photovoltaics near the production stage, Vitex's hard-earned leadership role in encapsulation of these products is growing more essential. "Samsung is one of the electronics industry's leading innovators, and Vitex has worked with various companies in the Samsung group for several years. This form factor is critical to extract maximum value from the product design. We believe that Vitex technologies will be needed by many companies in the Samsung group, as well as throughout the electronics industry, and we are glad to be able to play a role in advancing these great technologies," noted Chandler Park, senior manager with Samsung America.Vitex continues to conduct research and development in the ultra-barrier film and thin-film encapsulation fields to enhance its technology and strengthen its IP portfolio while it pursues its new business model.About Samsung America, Inc.Samsung America, Inc.
