Date Announced: 13 Aug 2007 -- Cree's Subsidiary Recognized for Environmental and Community Contributions Cree, Inc., a market-leader in LED solid-state lighting components, today announced that its COTCO International Limited subsidiary has been honored by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation with the HSBC Living Business Award Certificate of Excellence. The certificate recognizes COTCO's contributions to the environment and to the local community in Hong Kong. Cree and its COTCO subsidiaries are global leaders in the development and production of energy-efficient LED products and technologies that significantly reduce energy consumption in lighting applications. The HSBC Living Business program helps commercial enterprises become more competitive and productive by implementing socially and environmentally responsible business practices. With the support of the Business Environmental Council and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the HSBC Living Business Awards recognize organizations that have made outstanding contributions to long-term business employing responsible practices.
