Date Announced: 09 Mar 2007 Luminit has enhanced its production equipment and capabilities to be able to produce seamless rolls of its Light Shaping Diffuser on polyester, polycarbonate or specialty film. This web replication platform now provides rolls that are up to 35 inches in width and 1500 foot long on substrate thicknesses ranging from 4 to 20 mil. This same capability is also available for seamed rolls.This volume production capability is available for most circular, elliptical and extreme elliptical Light Shaping Diffusers. These rolls of film can be easily converted to custom sizes and shapes by Luminit or its customer. This roll-to-roll capability has resulted in significant cost reductions for large volume integrators of Light Shaping Diffusers, and lowered the cost of entry for low and medium volume integrators in the linear fluorescent/LED based General Lighting and Display markets.The seamless roll-to-roll capability is one early result of Luminit’s long range plan to increase quality, product capability and production capacity in order to better serve its world-wide customer base.
