Global Tech LED announces proposal to City of Cleveland to establish LED manufacturing facility

May 10, 2010
Date Announced: 10 May 2010 GLOBAL TECH, LED of Naples, Florida announced today its proposal to the City of Cleveland, Ohio to establish an LED manufacturing facility in the city, under the same general terms and conditions as that which has been offered to Chinese manufacturer, Sunpu-Opto.Global Tech LED is a manufacturer of sophisticated microprocessor controlled LED light products and technology, with patent pending Retrofit Kits that convert HID and fluorescent light fixtures into energy efficient LED without the cost of purchasing new fixtures.“Our commitment to the City of Cleveland is a “Total Solutions” alternative that addresses bulb recycling, job creation outside the manufacturing sector that supports independent local businesses, and soft skills training for at-risk youth through collaboration with the Laborers Union local 860. Leveraging our consortium of for-profit corporations, non-profit community development corporations, and the Laborers Union, will help to insure that green industry jobs created in the local community are permanent, and the quality of job training is long term and sufficient to support the needs of the local green industry.” Explains Global Tech LED co-founder Gary Mart.“Moreover, the City of Cleveland can begin realizing the benefits of our proposed collaboration much sooner, and more cost effectively than that offered by the Sunpu-Opto deal, especially when taken into consideration the $50 million dollars in supplemental financing that is available to the city through our consortium. We commend the Mayor for his proactive and outside-the-box approach, and trust that our offer will be given serious and due consideration.”
