Meanwell introduces 20W waterproof / dustproof IP64 LED power supplies

Date Announced: 12 May 2010 To fulfill the lower wattage demand of LED lighting and decorative lighting market, MEAN WELL has introduced two new series of 20W LED power supply with active PFC function: PLN-20 series and PLP-20 series. Features with isolated plastic enclosure, PLN-20 series can reach IP64 waterproof/ dustproof level by its mechanical design and has cost-saving on glue. With casing removed and miniature PCB design, PLP-20 series also has significant cost-saving on the mechanical parts. Therefore, within our LED power supply family, these series can be the best solutions for low wattage LED lighting fixtures with economical concerns. To fulfill the power factor requirement of lighting norms and to consider the market competition for lower wattage applications, PLN-20 / PLP-20 series are designed by the simplified single stage PFC topology, so that they can achieve the required high power factor (PF≧0.9) economically and also comply with EN61000-3-2 Class C (harmonic current) for the output loading higher than 75%, which meet the general requirement for lighting fixtures. In addition, efficiency of both series are as high as 83.5% and hence can operate at full load between -30 ~ +60oC by only free air convection, which may often request by lighting systems. Through adjustment of the built-in potential-meter, output current level of the PSU can be fine tuned between 75~100% rated value which increases the flexibility of system design. Other standard functions include short circuit, over load, over voltage and over temperature protections. In addition, equipped with 18AWG/30cm of input/output cables allows users a flexible installation in various systems. Both series comply with global certificates per TUV / UL / CUL / CE, including major lighting regulations such as UL8750, EN61347-1 and EN61347-2-13, which can greatly guarantee your safety.
