Digital Lumens appoints veteran Feinstein to VP Sales and Marketing post
Digital Lumens, the developer of the industry's first Intelligent Lighting System™, today announced that Michael Feinstein has joined the company as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Feinstein brings more than 25 years' experience in product management, marketing, sales and, for the past 10 years, as an investor and entrepreneur involved in markets that included clean energy and software.
"The company has quickly reached the point when adding an executive with Mike's deep strategic and operational experience will be key to successfully supporting our growing network of customers and partners, and maximizing the company's market potential," said Tom Pincince, President and CEO of Digital Lumens. "Mike brings the right skill set and hands-on approach to help drive the rapid and widespread adoption of Digital Lumens' solution, and we are delighted that he has chosen to bring his energy and expertise to the team."
Recently Digital Lumens announced the industry's first Intelligent Lighting Solution that integrates LEDs, networking and software to reduce customers' lighting-related energy costs by up to 90%. Designed for large industrial facilities, the system includes best-of-breed, LED-based fixtures, each with on-board computing, sensing and built-in intelligence. The fixtures form a Smart Light Grid, or 'lighting network,' with system-wide intelligence and integrated controls that deliver energy-efficiency results that far surpass the results achievable with single "dumb" fixtures.
"Helping to drive innovative technologies into widespread market adoption has been the cornerstone of my management experience," said Michael Feinstein. "Digital Lumens has identified a real market need within rugged industrial customers who are motivated to reduce energy load, effectively manage lighting resources, and insulate their energy bills from the impact of rate increases. I look forward to helping the company tap this enormous market opportunity as customers embrace smart technologies that provide both energy efficiency and greater control over their resources."
Feinstein most recently was Managing Director of Sempre Management. Throughout his entrepreneurial and investment career with Sempre, Venrock Associates and Atlas Venture, he was on the boards of start-ups including Boston-Power, Ciclon Semiconductor (acquired by Texas Instruments), CircleLending, WaveSmith Networks (acquired by CIENA Corp.) and Quantum Bridge Communications (acquired by Motorola). Previously Feinstein held marketing and sales positions with New Oak Communications (acquired by Nortel Networks), Shiva Corporation (acquired by Intel) and Cayman Systems. Feinstein received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
