Purespectrum enters LED light market with PAR38 retrofit lamp

April 19, 2010
Date Announced: 19 Apr 2010 Purespectrum (OTBB: PSRU) is launching the company’s first Light Emitting Diode (LED) product, a PAR38 rated for 30,000 hours with light output equivalent to a 75-watt incandescent bulb that can be used indoors or outdoors with equal effectiveness. The midsize reflector is certified by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and is another addition to PureSpectrum’s rapidly growing product portfolio which also includes multiple styles and wattages of dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), dimmable ballasts for linear fluorescent lighting and dimmable linear fluorescent fixtures. The PAR38 will be on display at the PureSpectrum booth at both the National Hardware Show and LightFair International taking place in May in Las Vegas.PureSpectrum’s PAR38 contains 42 light emitting diodes and consumes approximately nine watts of power to generate the same light output as a 75-watt incandescent bulb, making the bulb applicable for outdoor use as a floodlight or indoor use for canned lighting. The suggested retail price for PureSpectrum’s PAR38 LED is half the retail cost of comparable products from major brand names which are currently on the market.LED technology is widely considered to be the future for energy efficient lighting for residential and commercial and industrial use, and the LED market is expected to reach more than $10 billion during the next few years. But consumer adoption has initially been slowed by high cost per unit prices and limited viable applications. PureSpectrum Director of Product Development Garth Kullman said PureSpectrum believes LEDs are a technology advancement that provides substantial benefits for consumers in specific applications when the products are priced affordably. “Our goal has always been to introduce products and technologies which are in demand now and viable in the long term, and we cannot ignore the energy and cost savings offered by LED products for niche markets,” Kullman said. “The addition of this LED product to our product portfolio furthers the company’s commitment to our mission of bringing to market cost effective, high performance energy efficient lighting which satisfies consumer demand and expectations. By identifying the right products, the right applications for those products and the right approach to marketing and selling those products, we are able to offer a diverse product line and gain entry into several segments of the energy efficient lighting market which could provide the company with immediate access to additional revenue streams through sales.”Call (912) 961-4980 or visit www.purespectrumlighting.com to find additional information about PureSpectrum or PureSpectrum’s dimmable CFLs or dimmable T8 linear fluorescent fixtures.ABOUT PURESPECTRUM PureSpectrum, Inc. is a progressive lighting company headquartered in Savannah, Ga., dedicated to researching and developing innovations in lighting in multiple categories that provide answers to questions facing the lighting industry.
