LED light manufacturing facility from Energy & Automation Inc. brings jobs to Central Texas

Date Announced: 17 Dec 2010

Luling, Texas - Energy & Automation Inc. (E&A) today announced it will break ground on a 30,000-square-foot facility to manufacture and assemble LEDs in the Luling Business/Industrial Park on U.S. Highway 183 in Luling, Texas. The new site will be called LED Manufacturing Inc. and provide energy-efficient, long-lasting lights for residential, commercial and industrial consumers across the country.

“We look forward to putting people to work producing the highest-quality LEDs on the market which will reduce consumer energy costs and decrease the number of future power plants,” says Energy & Automation Inc. COO Greg Klepper. The company is leasing a 12,000-square-foot site in Luling during construction, expected to begin early 2011 and take six months to complete.

Luling Mayor Mike Hendricks says E&A will create much-needed jobs and help stimulate the Central Texas economy while building environmentally friendly products. The company will hire 50 employees initially with plans to potentially double the workforce in 12 months. “Luling offers a talented workforce, a convenient location and a business environment conducive to a company’s success,” he says. “We look forward to supplying the country with a new generation of green energy through LED Manufacturing Inc. in Luling.”

The City of Luling and the Luling Economic Development Corporation teamed together with E&A to construct the manufacturing facility, working in conjunction with the Texas Department of Agriculture to secure a Texas Capital Fund Real Estate loan to help finance the project. "The Texas Capital Fund is a smart investment that rejuvenates the economies of Texas communities," Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples said. "This award will help enhance economic development in Luling, proving that great things are possible when Texans partner with Texans."

LED is a cutting-edge semiconductor light source which is safer and more energy-efficient than traditional lighting because it does not release heat, is made from non-toxic materials, can be recycled and lasts many times longer than other light sources. www.ledilluminationinc.com
