MSi adds iPAR-30 and iMR-16 to its line of architectural LED lighting

June 22, 2010
Date Announced: 22 Jun 2010 Deerfield Beach, FL – MSi has added the iPAR-30 and iMR-16 to its growing line of LED retail accent, spot and flood lighting. Now retail stores can choose from a full selection of solid state lights designed to provide beautiful clean light that lasts for years and consumes 80 per cent less power than conventional halogen lamps. Considered the world leader in solid-state lighting technology for miner's cap-lights, Mine Safety Innovations (MSi) has provided hundreds of thousands of LED mine lighting products to the gold and platinum mines throughout the world. Leveraging their LED expertise, and in collaboration with the leading optic developers and LED manufacturers globally, MSi has proven this same LED technology with retail accent spot and flood lighting. The new iPAR-30 packs all the great features found in MSi’s popular iPAR-38 into the smaller PAR-30 format. The innovative POWERBAND technology allows users to fine tune their lighting by selecting either 8, 10 or 12 watt output with the simple twist of a band found on the back of the light. The iPAR30 is fully dimmable using most standard dimmers and its CrimpFin design uses multiple thin fins for greater heat dissipation with less weight. Its PIC DATA PRO intelligent communications allows the use of a hand-held device to receive data from the light including hours of use, date of manufacture and wattage. It is available in both long and short necks with a choice of 2700K, 3000K or 4300K color temperatures and beam angles of 10, 16 or 22.5 degrees. The iMR-16 brings all the advantages of LEDs to smaller multifaceted reflector bi-pin lights used in track and pendant lighting. Like the iPAR-30 it is fully dimmable and also benefits from the proprietary CrimpFin technology for improved thermal management. With a lamp voltage of 12 volts the iMR-16 is available in 2700K, 3000K or 4300K color temperatures with beam angles of 11.5, 16, 22 and 30 degrees, making it useful in a wide range of lighting situations. Both of these lights use CREE, a leader in the power LED market, top of the line LEDs with an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours. That’s the equivalent of being on 12 hours a day for over 10 years. They both have UL, ROHS and FCC approval and feature a five-year warranty. These lights use custom optics to individually focus each LED creating a symmetrical beam for superior intensity without shadows or lines.“There are so many advantages to using LEDs over the usual halogen bulbs that it is hard to know where to start,” says Bruce Johnson, MSi managing partner. “But I think most buyers will appreciate the savings from not only greatly reduced energy consumption to run them, but also other things like lower A/C bills because of the reduced heat they generate and even things like reduced manpower because of the much greater maintenance intervals.” For more information on the iPAR-30 or iMR-16 or any of MSi’s other fine products please visit the website at www.msissl.com or call 888-778-9864.About the companyFounded in 2000, MSi is dedicated to the design, development and manufacturing of application specific solid-state lighting products.
