Date Announced: 15 Jan 2010 -- New range delivers 75% energy savings and same quality of light as previous incandescent lightingFall River, MA –- Philips Lighting today announces the launch of the Lightolier Lytecaster LED, a retrofit series of products designed specifically to light commercial buildings currently using costly and inefficient incandescent lighting products. Delivering a 75% saving in energy and the same high quality of light as their incandescent predecessors, this new range offers an effortless, tool-free conversion opportunity for building owners and facility managers looking for a cost effective way to upgrade their lighting to an energy efficient, LED solution. The Philips Lightolier Lytecaster LED Retrofit Series was designed to provide a tool-free conversion of its popular line of 1002P1 and 1102P1 incandescent frame-in kits to energy efficient LED lighting. It provides over 900 lumens of usable light using just 18.75 watts of power, which easily replaces a 75 watt incandescent lamp. The LUXEON LEDs in Lytecaster enable both 2700K warm light and 3500K neutral white light for numerous commercial applications like multi-family, hospitality and office spaces. In addition to superior performance, the Lytecaster LED Retrofit kit requires no extra wiring, as it installs tool-free from below the ceiling using all existing wiring, even when dimmers are already installed.Similarly, the LED engine is designed to work with most of the existing Lytecaster trims. Unlike other products where there are very few options, Lytecaster LED offers the use of dozens of existing trims, including in many cases the trim already installed in the ceiling. And finally, the 1002P1 and 1102P1 frames are so versatile that they can be used with the Lytecaster LED Retrofit as a three part system; the frame-in kit, trim optic and LED Retrofit engine for new construction or as a remodeler in existing ceilings.“That’s the beauty of the product’s design - the customer will save nearly 75% of the energy required to provide the same level of illumination in their current application,” said Bill Schoettler, President of Philips Lightolier. "For over 60 years Philips Lightolier has led the industry in recessed downlighting through our exacting design and manufacturing standards, and with the new Lytecaster LED we continue to offer products that meet or exceed the consumers' expectation for energy efficiency and value added designs that make sense and simplify conservation."
