The Lighting Industry Awards 2010 go to…

Aug. 2, 2010
Date Announced: 02 Aug 2010 The first Lighting Industry Awards were held by The Lighting Association at a Gala Dinner in Stratford upon Avon on July 14th. Gyles Brandreth, star of ‘Have I Got News for You’ and Radio 4’s ‘Just a Minute’ provided an amusing and unusual view of the industry before the presentation. The judges who represented the trade press, industry, energy suppliers and Government organisations had difficulty in short listing 3 nominations in each of the 5 categories but finally a decision was reached and winners were announced for the best Light Source, Commercial Luminaire, Domestic Luminaire, Innovation and a lifetime achievement award. Peter Hunt Chief Executive of The Lighting Association said “The evening was a huge success and the awards went to very worthy winners. The seminar programme followed by both the Student Design Awards and the Industry Awards proved to be a winning combination. Couple with that an extremely friendly crowd from the industry and we had a recipe for an excellent night.”Light Source Product of the Year Sponsor E.ONWINNER SmartWhite Intelligent Biodynamic LED Light Source, PhotonStarLED LtdCommercial Product of the Year Sponsor Fern Howard WINNER AlphaLED Universal Open, Projection Lighting Ltd Domestic Product of the Year Sponsor UBM Interiors Birmingham 2011 WINNER LEDVANCETM M, Osram Ltd Innovation Award Sponsor OSRAMWINNER SmartNemesis Intelligent LED Luminaire, PhotonStarLED LtdLifetime Achievement Sponsor Clare WINNER Keven Verdun MBE
