NALMCO takes 57th Annual Convention and Trade Show to Cabo San Lucas

Date Announced: 02 Aug 2010 Des Moines, Iowa – Representatives from more than 100 of the lighting industry’s leading companies will turn out Oct.17-20 for the interNational Association of Lighting Management Companies 57th Annual Convention and Trade Show.This year NALMCO will host the convention in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It is one of the oldest and most well-attended international events in the lighting management industry. Jim Frank, NALMCO board president and division manager for Facility Solutions Group, a national provider of lighting products and services, said the event offers educational and networking opportunities.“NALMCO’s convention and trade show provides a professional advantage for industry leaders that otherwise would not exist,” Frank said. “We are able to gather to share ideas on the best ways to conduct business and how to tackle the issues affecting our industry.”NALMCO also will unveil its newest nationally recognized certification, named CSLC for Certified Sustainable Lighting Consultant. The certification will be a seal of approval ensuringthat a lighting professional has expertise in designing and maintaining lighting systems that use long-lived, energy-efficient products that minimize impacts on the environment and society.The association is comprised of nearly 150 member companies, representing thousands of individuals, who identify and implement millions of dollars in energy savings each year. Many members are small business owners. International member companies include General Electric, Osram SYLVANIA and Philips.During the convention, guest speaker Chris Kuehl, the National Association of Credit Management’s chief economist, will present his economic outlook for 2011, and Professor Nadarajah Narendran from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lighting Research Center willdiscuss the future of LEDs.
