OSRAM Kreios G LED luminaire targets gobo projectors

March 25, 2010
Date Announced: 25 Mar 2010 Kreios G, the new LED luminaire by OSRAM, offers spectacular effects and texts of light. It is the first LED module suitable for use in gobo projectors. Kreios G replaces the traditionally used 50W halogen luminaires and impresses with its high light output, long durability and small dimensions. With Kreios G, OSRAM provides luminaire manufacturers with an efficient luminaire based on light emitting diodes (LED) which is a perfect alternative for 50W halogen systems. The LED luminaire consists of the LED light source, the heat-sink and the ballast. Thus, it is particularly easy to integrate into existing designs. In addition, thanks to its small size, its low weight together with the low heat emission typical for LED lights, it provides new creative freedom in the design of gobo projectors.Kreios G has a light output of 600lm and is therefore ideal for numerous applications of projectors in spot lighting and special effect lighting. Higher output levels are also possible within almost unchanged dimensions of the luminaire. In contrast to conventional light solutions due to the LED lights’ long durability, the light source in a gobo projector will only need to be changed seldomly. Combined with the savings in energy costs, operating costs can be significantly reduced. The higher initial investment into the LED solution pays off during the term of usage (total cost of ownership).Kreios G is a further addition to the OSRAM Kreios range which includes LED modules for film, studio and theatre lighting. In addition, it further expands the already broad application spectrum for energy-efficient light emitting diodes for show projection. Furthermore, with this new LED lighting solution, OSRAM again confirms its competence in lighting technology, optics and electronics, while also being an innovation driving partner for its OEM customers.ABOUT OSRAMOSRAM (Munich, Germany) is part of the Industry Sector of Siemens and one of the two leading lighting manufacturers in the world.
