Obducat showcases the latest in nanolithography at tradeshows in Japan, US
OBDUCAT, a leading supplier of lithography solutions based on Nanoimprint Lithography and Electron Beam Recording, was to be presenting its latest developments at Nanotech in Japan on 18-20 February. At the same time, in Santa Clara, California, the Strategies in Light conference will focus on photonic crystals, a venue to which Obducat has been invited to speak to an audience of thousands about the new application areas for LED.
Obducat was invited to speak at Strategies in Light in the US on account of being the only player on the market to have succeeded in developing a production method to create an LED lamp based on a photonic crystal.
– Obducat’s technology has now moved from the laboratory to full scale production. During Strategies in Light, I will be presenting Obducat’s mass production solution for photonic crystals used in HB LEDs as well as the applications in which they are used today and in the future, says Marc Beck, Ph.D in Solid State Physics and Senior Application Engineer at Obducat.
Subsequent to EU’s resolve in December 2008 to gradually replace today’s light bulbs, the market for LED lighting is expected to grow. LEDs can also be used in larger displays for stadiums and arenas, and for street lighting. Other application areas are computers and home entertainment projectors, backlighting TVs, and LCD TVs.
– The participants at the Strategies in Light conference include all major global LED producers, presenting Obducat with an excellent opportunity to exhibit its technology. The same applies to Nanotech in Japan, the largest nanotechnology exhibition world-wide, which takes place at the same time. Nanotech is a venue where we can meet both current and prospective customers, says Patrik Lundström, CEO, Obducat.
Obducat’s customers within Nanoimprint Lithography comprise companies such as Epistar and Luxtaltek. At Nanotech, Obducat will be taking part together with its distributor Canon Marketing Japan. 500 exhibitors will during three days be displaying its products, and the exhibition is counting on attracting 50,000 visitors.
