Instrument Systems achieves ISO 17025 accreditation, exhibits at Laser trade fair

May 6, 2009
Date Announced: 06 May 2009 Instrument Systems, leading manufacturer for light measurement systems and based in Munich, takes pride in announcing accreditation of its testing laboratories by the German DATech accreditation body in conformity with ISO 17025. Qualification is accompanied by implementation of an advanced quality management system and assures customers of the highest quality measurement and calibration results.Accreditation in conformity with ISO 17025 is superior to certification according to ISO 9001, since the qualification involves not only auditing the workflows and documentation, but also includes examining and certifying the expertise of technicians and engineers when they carry out test procedures.Instrument Systems calibrates its measuring instruments in test laboratories that are stabilized for temperature and climatic environment. The technical facilities are also assessed and meet the stringent requirements of the accreditation body. All the internal standards used are based directly on national or international reference standards, e.g. PTB (Germany) or NIST (USA).“Our test processes have only changed minimally compared with previously,” reports founder of the company and President Richard Distl, “but the new seal of approval emphasizes the high quality of our work and provides the official confirmation for absolute traceability to international standards.” Distl continued by saying that “for our customers this means enhanced safety and security, and more comparable results.”Light sources that are tested using equipment manufactured by Instrument Systems therefore receive a quality seal that also benefits later stages of the value chain and is valid worldwide.Instrument Systems at the Laser trade fair in MunichInstrument Systems GmbH will again be present as an exhibitor at the Laser World of Photonics in Munich this year. The leading manufacturer of spectral light measurement equipment will be demonstrating turnkey solutions for LED and display measurement, and spectroradiometry and photometry.Prospective customers can visit a selection of test setups where they will be shown the latest features of the SpecWin Pro analysis software. Apart from the main products in the categories spectrometer, and imaging photometers and colorimeters, the ISP 1000 integrating sphere recently launched in the marketplace will also be demonstrated live at the stand. This advanced integrating sphere with a diameter of one meter is used to test large light sources and LED modules for applications in solid-state lighting.Instrument Systems has recently been accredited in conformity with ISO 17025 and will be providing information on the LED calibration standards that have just been released. This latest product from Instrument Systems is based on the development of special LEDs that manifest exceptionally stable light emission and can be used for calibration purposes.Instrument Systems invites any exhibition visitors interested in spectral light measurement to come and see the demonstrations at Stand 448 in Hall B1.Company Profile of Instrument Systems GmbHInstrument Systems is one of the leading manufacturers for spectral light measurement systems.
