Date Announced: 15 May 2009 -- Focus on Express Glass Services, Reflection-Free Miniature Lenses and Component Production-- Visitors will find Docter Optics at Stand No. 325 in Hall B2.Docter Optics will be present at this year’s LASER World of Photonics with products and services designed to add the finishing touch to many of the highlights that will be showcased at this leading international industry event in Munich.Docter Optics has traditionally been present at this industry event with its Express Glass Services (EGS) division since this is where industry professionals and representatives of research institutes and research facilities involved in the area of optics get together with their most important suppliers and providers. EGS produces custom semi-finished products, prototypes, pre-production samples and small runs of optical glass for these companies and institutes. Due to its exceptional experience and expertise, advanced production technology, agility and a track record of reliability, EGS has for years been acknowledged as a source of unique services. EGS also offers it customers an impressive choice of special optical glasses from its extensive inventory, including synthetic quartz glass, ceramic glass and filter glasses. The Docter Optics Optical Systems business specializes in high-end optics. Products include reflection-free miniature lenses that defy comparison, and the Auto-Tessar® series lenses that made their debut last year represent one good example. The extraordinary characteristics of Auto-Tessar® lenses, which absorb veiling glare and reflections virtually completely without electronic correction, make them ideal for many new applications – especially whenever absolute reliability is essential, where durability is important or where electricity is not available or cannot be easily provided. The Stilar® 2.8/8, another newcomer on the market, was developed for advanced high-resolution 1.2" sensor chips and is considered the current the state of the art, which explains the widespread interest in this lens. Of course, Docter Optics will also showcase its Tevidon® series lenses. These tried and tested CCD lenses are designed for a wide range of applications such as, for example, industrial image processing and security technology.LED illumination and photovoltaics are two topics that will be of special interest to World of Photonics visitors, and the Docter Optics Precision Glass Components business unit is internationally active in both areas. This Docter Optics competence center uses proprietary technology to mold optical glass with extremely precise three-dimensional geometries. This technology is currently the only was to produce complex optical shapes such as free-form lenses, light pipes, aspheres and arrays economically on an industrial scale.World of Photonics attendees won’t want to miss the opportunity to visit the Docter Optics stand, where they can bring themselves up to date on the possibilities offered by this technology. Last but far from least, optical components for applications in the areas of LED illumination, medical technology, photovoltaics (secondary concentration) and many other areas will be on display.
