GSA awards Renaissance Lighting with contract, GSA schedule listing

Date Announced: 10 Apr 2009

Renaissance Lighting, a leading innovator in the development and manufacture of solid-state downlight fixtures, has been awarded a contract by the General Services Administration (GSA) and placed on the GSA Schedule for the next five years. Since a majority of U.S. Government projects utilize the products and services of GSA Schedule-listed vendors on an exclusive basis, Renaissance Lighting is well poised to advance its market position and associated revenues.

“Renaissance Lighting is honored to receive the GSA contract and schedule listing.” said Barry Weinbaum, Renaissance Lighting CEO. “The GSA contract award and schedule listing are a testament to our unrelenting commitment to green technology and energy efficiency as well as Renaissance Lighting’s innovation and product leadership within the global solid-state lighting marketplace.

“With lower watts and high lumen output, we offer products that are 80 percent more efficient than incandescent lighting. Renaissance Lighting’s product line will be most attractive to government projects that are focused on reducing energy consumption and long-term operating costs,” Weinbaum said.

Renaissance Lighting offers an impressive portfolio of architectural-grade, solid-state White LED-based downlights for various specialty and general illumination applications. The company also is setting new industry standards for efficient, architectural-grade LED RGB downlights that offer improved flexibility, more finish options and more lumen output than its predecessor fixtures. Complementing Renaissance Lighting’s newest line of RGB fixtures is its Rhapsody™ Color Management System – a complete easy-to-use software solution for unleashing customer creativity.

Renaissance Lighting, in order to qualify for the contract award, was required to address a number of GSA-mandated requirements. These requirements include: Registration with the Federal Government’s Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) and Central Contractor Registration (CCR), and a past performance review by Open Ratings, a division of Dunn and Bradstreet. The GSA also requires that all approved vendor products must be produced within the United States. Finally, all approved vendor products must meet applicable fire and safety standards and also must be listed by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. and/or the Canadian Standards Association.
