These results demonstrate SemiLEDs commitment to developing its technology to provide superior performing products which continue to push the threshold of LED performance. Achieving over 120lm/W in mass production is a great step toward enabling LEDs to address a growing number of applications while saving energy and costs. The tests by Nationstar Optoelectronics and SENGLED were performed at 350mA in a 1W package with SemiLEDs 45mil I-core LED chip, which is currently available in mass production along with the 40mil I-core LED. The tests confirmed that SemiLEDs new I-core LED is able to deliver over 120 lm/W, a significant achievement. With these results, both companies plan to ramp capacity for street light applications.The impressive tests results for the I-core LED prove the real advantages which are delivered through SemiLEDs’ chip technology.
