Reid will report to Tony McGettigan, chief executive officer. As a member of LUXIM’S leadership team, Reid will develop the company’s marketing and alliance strategies, and implement program initiatives for its industry-leading LIFI® technology. “Randy is an exceptional leader who makes a great addition to the LUXIM team,” said McGettigan. “He has a broad lighting background, as well as a proven track record in founding and growing a technology-driven business.”Reid joins Luxim from Metrolight, Inc. (America) which he founded in 2002. Over the last seven years, Reid established Metrolight as the number one supplier of high-power electronic HID ballasts in the US. In 2006, he was named executive vice president, sales and marketing. A recognized leader in the lighting industry, Reid held various positions within the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), including president from 2002-2003. He also served on the LIGHTFAIR Management Committee and later as an advisor to LIGHTFAIR. Reid’s appointment comes at a high point for LUXIM. Adoption of LIFI by prominent fixture manufacturers soared in the first half of 2009, and the company recently closed on $12 million in Series C funds.
